Litter Chief, Anthony “Jambie” Giambrone …“COOPERATION IS KEY” by Ned Bingle

Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority Litter Control Officer, Anthony “Jambie” Giambrone, is in the development of coordinating a county-wide effort to clean up the area. According to Giambrone, it will take a joint effort of all residents and leaders of the community to take responsibility to tackle this age-old dilemma. Giambrone’s efforts have already seen tremendous success throughout Monongalia County, and he’s determined to complete the job and keep it that way. .' FULL STORY

Voices from the community
This cleanup is very important to the city and the county. It is being coordinated by BoParc, The City of Morgantown, The County Solid Waste Authority, and the State of West Virginia. This annual cleanup was restarted last year after several years of being dormant. Last year over 7 tons of trash and tires were collected from all around the county. FULL STORY

"Joining Morgantowns.com web site has been a great way to let others know about the special events that Mon Health System and The Foundation of Mon General has planned in our community. Many times people only think of a hospital when they are ill, but with the help of Morgantowns.com people will be able to see how Mon Health System reaches out into the community every day. Thanks Morgantowns.com. Keep up the good work."

"Morgantown has earned many accolades in recent few years for being a great small city. But, to retain that status, we need broad participation by our community in planning for Morgantown's future. As we grow, we must retain the great qualities for which we have been praised and avoid the mistakes made by other communities previously in our position. Morgantown's Dot Com is playing a unique role in this process by creating an on-line forum for community-wide discussions of important issues, issues given too little attention by Morgantown's newspaper and radio stations. Our community will reap many benefits from the broader participation and open discussion stimulated by Morgantown's Dot Com. Thanks for creating this opportunity! "

"The First Things First Committee appreciates the web site service which www.morgantowns.com has provided for the Committee's efforts in helping the public understand beneficial alternatives in highway planning which can take place even when little funding is available for State highways. The web site has provided creative, imaginative service for which our Committee and many persons in the entire area are very grateful."

Don Spencer,
Chairman
First Things First
